It looks like Viacom has found a place for all the hip hop stars of the early 2000s on the reality shows of their various networks. Known for countless hits from 2000 through 2005, Nelly’s role on “Real Husbands of Hollywood” has been standout for the past few years. A lot of fans still flock to Nelly, although his music is not as popular as it once was.
Ever since his fall from musical prominence, Nelly has focused on acting and other business ventures. One investment Nelly has is in the Charlotte Hornets, where he is a minority owner under Michael Jordan. But, television is where Nelly is taking on a bigger role in a similar fashion to Ja Rule.
Recently, BET announced it would premiere Nelly’s own series, “Nellyville,” named after his uber-successful 2002 album. Promos run daily for “Nellyville” on BET and the fans are looking forward to it. Many of them took to Twitter to share their excitement over Nelly’s upcoming show.
