HHV Exclusive: MC Jin talks life in Hong Kong after “106 & Park” and Ruff Ryders success

MC Jin HHVBy K.B. Tindal
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Hard to believe it’s been ten years since MC Jin first gained stardom in the rap game. His initial comeup is something dreams are made of, as he gained fame, initally, by battling each Friday on “106 & Park.” After dominating here, Jin signed with Ruff Ryders and released his debut album, The Rest Is History.

Earlier this year, Hip Hop Vibe’s DJ Kid Fresh caught up with Jin for a dope interview, where he revealed he had a new album in the works. Now, Jin has dropped this album, XIV:LIX, standing for the last second of his fifteen minutes of fame. Given the Roman numerals, it’s clear Jin has a deeper meaning with this project.

In part one of MC Jin’s three-part interview with Hip Hop Vibe, he discusses what led up to this album release. After his deal with Ruff Ryders didn’t go as planned, Jin spent a few more years in the United States before going to Hong Kong. Back in his native land, he explained how he found both his success and found God.
