A popular figure on the battle rap scene is Murda Mook, a native of New York City. He recently made headlines when he challenged Drake to a battle on Twitter. Battle rap received a lot of attention in Atlanta during the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards and Murda Mook was present.
Although Drake has been typecast for the type of music he makes, he is well-versed in several forms of rap. Of course, when battle rapping first regained mainstream attention, Drake was among the mainstream hip hop fans. But, the battlers have their own goals and they are reaching them now.
Murda Mook was stopped by Nadeska Alexis of MTV News on the red carpet during the awards. Given his latest news, Nadeska Alexis asked Murda Mook about Drake and them potentially battling. He discussed Drake challenging him to battle and he did a sick impression of the Toronto spitter.
