Five years ago, an idea was born, it wasn’t exactly a unique idea, but it was an idea to give hip hop fans consistent and good content. At a time when music video channels air reality shows and old movies and music magazines are more like fashion magazines, additional outlets are needed. This is why Hip Hop Vibe was born.
Even though the journey has only been three years for me, the Hip Hop Vibe mission was in effect and making moves for a couple of years. There is an audience for hip hop music and love for the culture. Many people will argue about how to properly document this, but there are others who simply document it and that’s what Hip Hop Vibe has strived to do.
With this, Hip Hop Vibe has done it’s best to encompass all aspects of the hip hop community and to also bring in outside topics. The hip hop community has interests outside of hip hop. Perhaps this concept hasn’t always been perfect, but it has worked for the most part.
Five years is a long time and a lot of people with bigger plans ended up flaming out within five years. Nothing is easy about posting consistently and staying up on the latest content, so this is where the passion comes in at and the management here at Hip Hop Vibe is passionate about bringing the best content with the best presentation. This is why the readers were turned into viewers and such people as myself, DJ Louie Styles, DJ Kid Fresh, DJ Charlie Hustle, DJ Kelly J, and even Shorty Mack have hosted some HHV video content.
The hip hop market is expansive and there is so much that can be done with it. Hip Hop Vibe has tried to do as much as possible over the past five years and will continue to do so, only bigger and better. These first five years have been met with all types of ups-and-downs, but in the end, we made it and we’ll continue to make it, so as we begin the second five year period, expect to see more of Hip Hop Vibe everywhere and all the time.
