Restoring New York’s position in hip hop was not a one man job, it was a group effort. A great deal of the new talent in New York City has come from Brooklyn, but Harlem is home to a couple of hitters, too. Mainly, Vado is one Harlem artist who has held it down for the whole city, in various ways.
Expanding into movies, Vado has a role in Respect The Jux, during the filming for which, he talked to Hip Hop Vibe and he is signed to We The Best. His ties to DJ Khaled have helped him regain attention and move into the mainstream. Even with all of this, Vado is still true to his city.
This morning, Vado is up early and on Instagram doing some sharing. He shared a photo of one of his friends who is in prison with a message of how he inspires him. But, as the message continues, Vado has more interesting things included, including a #FreeMaino hashtag, which matches one made by a girl on Twitter on September 1.
