One of the more popular songs to come from Tupac post-death is his “Do For Love” single. The single is included on R U Still Down? (Remember Me) and it includes a sample, the same sampling style that became popular circa 2003. But, Tupac sampled Bobby Caldwell with his record.

The original version is an R&B classic and Bobby Caldwell named the song “What You Won’t Do For Love.” Bobby Caldwell released the single in 1978 on TK Records and it’s included on the album of the same name. Thirty-six years after the original release of the single, Bobby Caldwell has a classic on his hands.

This week, after talking it over with the team, everybody decided to go a little deeper than what Tupac provided. Never any knock to Tupac, but there is a music history lesson behind this one. With that being said, Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love” is this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
