Three years ago, Cash Money Records had several things in motion that led to them becoming bigger forces in the game. At the time, they were closing in on deals to sign both Mystikal and Busta Rhymes. Outside of this, Birdman was working to bring We The Best into the fold.
Busta Rhymes signing with Cash Money Records showed how far the label came. His career began back in 1991, when Busta Rhymes was a member of Leaders of the New School. Soon, Busta Rhymes went solo and became one of rap’s unforgettable figures over the next two decades.
Sway recently had Busta Rhymes come to Shade 45 for “Sway In The Morning” and he spoke on a lot. He first discussed losing a song to Nas and Leaders of the New School, before speaking on his Cash Money departure. Busta Rhymes went on to discuss the influence Diddy and Q-Tip had on him, along with his new album.
