Lil Wayne talks “Tha Carter V” release date with MTV News [VIDEO]

Lil Wayne MTVJust like with anybody who reaches the top, Lil Wayne faced backlash when he changed his style up. But, Lil Wayne made a vow on the spot to make better music and he’s done just that. He shut BET down with his performances of “Believe Me” and “Krazy” in time for Tha Carter V to drop.

Tha Carter V is how Lil Wayne said he would end his career right when it was taking off, in 2008. Back then, the game lacked consistency and Lil Wayne stepped up with an album every year since then. Counting his Young Money albums, Lil Wayne has dropped six albums since 2008 with two more to come.

Lil Wayne revealed to Nadeska Alexis of MTV News that his other album is Da Other Album, which is coming two months after Tha Carter V. There is no timeframe on when the first album will come, however. But, August 25 is definitely a date being tossed around by Lil Wayne’s camp.
