For people who watched guys like Wiz Khalifa and Drake to come up the way they have from the mixtape scene, they take personal pride. Before going into DJ-ing professionally, Wiz Khalifa and Drake’s mixtapes stayed in rotation. Now, they are two of the biggest rappers in the game.
Drake has received a lot of success because of his willingness to give back on so many fronts. One is that Drake is very new school, but he pays homage to the old school as much as he can. The other is that Drake gives back to cities he loves for hip hop, such as Houston with the Houston Appreciation Week.
Bringing all of his friends from the rap community to Houston, Drake recently did a show with Wiz Khalifa. Of course, Wiz Khalifa is a known smoker and Drake, not so much, even though he does smoke. But, when Wiz Khalifa gave Drake a little something to smoke, his reaction was priceless.
