Even though it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long ago, quite some time has passed since the early 2000s. In hip hop, this time was dominated by a select group of people, Roc-A-Fella Records being one of them. Their sound was primarily crafted by none other than Just Blaze.
At the time the hottest producer in the game, Just Blaze produced the Roc’s biggest hits. This includes Freeway’s “What We Do,” featuring Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel, which is regarded as a classic. Indeed, quite some time as passed, as everybody is now into something different with their careers.
HipHopSince1987 welcomed Just Blaze back for their Behind The Beats series when he talked to E-Money. This interview centered around the aforementioned “What We Do” single. Just Blaze also talked about his transition from doing hip hop music to breaking into the EDM market.
