Last week, “Comic View” returned to BET with Sommore as the host. It’s only fitting that a staple from the original series be the one to represent it, as it enters a new era of entertainment. Sommore made her BET return on May 6 with “Comic View,” which she originally hosted in 1994-1995.
Sommore is one of the original Queens of Comedy and she has had a successful career outside of BET. Among her work is a role on Friday After Next, alongside Ice Cube and Mike Epps, along with other all-stars. She also appeared on D. L. Hughley’s sitcom, “The Hughleys.”
On May 4, Sommore visited Raleigh, North Carolina, doing a show with D. L. Hughley and Mark Curry. During this time, Hip Hop Vibe’s Chox-Mak had the chance to speak with Sommore about the changes since she last hosted “Comic View.” Sommore also discussed the possibilities of her being in the next Friday movie.
