It’s hard not to admire 2 Chainz and know his story. At a time and a position when most people would fall back, 2 Chainz turned up and became 2012’s biggest breakout artist. He continues to be one of the biggest rappers in the game, but 2 Chainz released his Freebase EP to start the week off.
His EP picked up popularity quickly, but it left a lot of people wondering when 2 Chainz planned to drop a new album. Immediately after 2 Chainz released B.O.A.T.S. II, he announced a third album was in the works. What’s rare is an artist who consistently drops an album every year.
2 Chainz sat down with MTV News’ Rob Markman and he addressed some of the rumors surrounding his new album. B.O.A.T.S. III is not the title of the album, as previously announced. Instead, 2 Chainz said his third album will follow the mold of his Freebase EP that dropped this past week.
