Everything is bigger in Texas so they say. Still don’t quite know who “they” are, but they are definitely a powerful entity, after all, “they” are talking about Alexis Redd, a model from Dallas. She is one of the more popular ladies on the scene and she is making a name for herself in quite a few different fields.
Music videos are great methods of exposure and Alexis Redd has appeared in videos with many rappers. One of her more notable appearances was appearing in the Young Muhammad video for “Put It On Your Brain.” Bun B was one of the featured guests on that song.
Alexis Redd, like she does with every opportunity, used it to her advantage and she has continued to grow. Recently, Alexis Redd granted Hip Hop Vibe the opportunity to speak to her. Giving us time for the Hottie of the Week segment, she spoke on her career moves both in and out of the industry.

You seem to have a pretty big name in Dallas. How does it feel being a hometown celebrity? I’m a celebrity (laughs) I guess I feel normal, I really don’t even see myself that way I just view myself as a grinder.
What initially inspired you to take your chance with modeling? Others, people pushed me and motivated me to do it. I felt as though I was too short to even think about modeling, but once they explained I took a chance and it was as though I found what I was placed on earth for.
As you make your transition from model to actress what are some of the things you do to prepare for your new walk in acting? Get classes, I’m not interested in crash courses. I’m not a gambler so I like to be prepared. It’s always good to plan and have a strategy.
You’ve worked with quite a few Texas artist’s with your roles in videos, but what was it like working with the legendary Bun B? It was great, he was fun and comfortable to be around. He kept us laughing and made us feel like we were in a family environment.
What are some of your specific goals and how long do you see yourself modeling? To become an actress, that’s my goal. I also want to uplift the models that come behind me. As far as modeling I will do that as long as the camera loves me.
How do you feel about body enhancements like booty shots and breast implants? Do you have any? If you have the money to do it, do it. I don’t knock anybody. After I had my son, I had liposuction (shout out to Dr. Nathan Long with cosmetic procedures). I feel like if it makes you feel good then go for it.
What do you find more erotic, body oils and candles or whipped cream and strawberries? I feel food is erotic so it’s whipped cream and strawberries for me (laughs) I like to eat!
What do you want the world to remember about Alexis Redd? I’m from North Dallas and I worked my way up out of the projects. I worked in the corporate world and didn’t wait around to do anything. I moved around and made things happen. If I need or want anything, then something is wrong because I have my health and speaking skills to make sure that never happens. I’m not just a pretty face or big ass I go hard for who and what I love. I have many skills and could teach females a thing or two about men and what makes them tick. The main thing is most men want a go getter, not a lazy person who always has her hand out. That’s what I want people to know about me.
