For well over twenty years, Funkmaster Flex has held it down as one of Hot 97’s leading DJs. He has become one of hip hop’s biggest figures in this span of time, with an affinity for cars, sports, technology, and women. All of this has made Funkmaster Flex an immovable force in pop culture.
Funkmaster Flex is viewed as a right of passage by most rappers. They feel as if they have officially “made it” when they are invited to do his show and perform an in-studio freestyle. Seeing how it’s been over twenty years, Funkmaster Flex has hosted countless freestyles.
Echoing DJ Premier, Funkmaster Flex said some of these biggest rappers in the game suck at freestyles. Although DJ Premier hinted at it, Funkmaster Flex confirmed it was 2 Chainz who was his worse freestyler. Funkmaster Flex also talked about his love for cougars and about Carmelo Anthony with ESPN2.
