The past year has been big for Drake. He re-established himself as the current leader of the rap game. All of Drake’s rhymes are very diverse and one of his favorite topics is sports and he often draws parallels to athletes. This year, Drake was a big supporter of the University of Kentucky’s basketball program.
As much as Drake loves sports, sports also seem to love him. His line on Rick Ross’ single, “Stay Schemin’,” was the line of the year in 2012 and Kobe Bryant responded to it. Since then, Drake has begun spending a lot of time in Miami with Heat star, LeBron James.
Drake has since gotten a bigger invite from ESPN, as they have tapped him to host the 2014 ESPY Awards. This evening, Drake took to his Twitter to announce the new deal that is taking place that will put him at the center of the sports world. With Drake’s career already at a new peak, this is going to be a big additional step for him.
