As hip hop has welcomed the spring season, there was another tragedy impossible to ignore that was brewing in Texas. Everything is bigger in Texas, including their military bases. Fort Hood is the biggest military base in the United States and yesterday, it was home to the second shooting in five years.
Hostage crises have been taking place more frequently and it’s almost become a commonplace, which is disturbing. Back in 2009, the Fort Hood shooting left thirteen people dead and the area has barely recovered from this. Whatever recovery Fort Hood had was reset yesterday.
The dust has settled and there are lives forever changed and some that have ended, as four people are dead. Sixteen people have sustained injuries and the shooter is among the people who lost their lives. CNN has an official report on the situation and they have said the shooter is a former soldier who suffered behavioral and mental issues after returning home from Iraq.
