In the mid-2000s, DG Yola was on the cusp of breaking through and becoming one of the biggest names in hip hop. He was associated with such acts as Dem Franchize Boyz and DJ Unk. Legal issues ended up holding DG Yola back, as did the street life that left him shot.
Since 2012, DG Yola has remained on the straight and narrow, while working on new music. After putting out some music that received generally positive results, DG Yola’s music productivity slowed. Now, he finds himself back in the midst of some legal trouble.
A few days ago, there was a shooting in Atlanta that left one person dead and another critically injured. While at a Northwest Atlanta complex, DG Yola reportedly was involved in a shooting that left Rodney Walker dead. Another man, Isiah Knight, was also shot and robbed and police believe it was in connection to the other shooting and DG Yola was arrested for it last Friday.
