ScHoolboy Q talks “Oxymoron,” East/West Coast hip hop, “Hands on the Wheel,” and more with Torae [AUDIO]

ScHoolboy Q 5The next major album to release from ScHoolboy Q is Oxymoron, which is his major label debut. Oxymoron is a long time coming, as ScHoolboy Q first announced the album in 2012. After Kendrick Lamar dominated the 2012-2013 period, ScHoolboy Q was to immediately pick up where he left off.

However, ScHoolboy Q ended up being delayed and this has appeared to be more of a blessing than a curse. The spotlight is fully on ScHoolboy Q and it was not inherited from anyone. Currently, ScHoolboy Q has a couple of singles that are doing well on the radio, mainly “Collard Greens” with Kendrick Lamar.

Earlier this week, ScHoolboy Q talked to Hip Hop Nation about his current career moves. Oxymoron was at the center of this discussion, as was ScHoolboy Q’s take on the present-day East and West Coast hip hop scene. ScHoolboy Q, himself, showed tensions between the coasts were in the past with his “Hands on the Wheel” single with A$AP Rocky that gained him fame.
