Kanye West may very well be the most-impactful hip hop artist of the past ten years, but he was molded in the image of Jay-Z. Songs like “Big Brother” prove this, as Jay-Z epitomized what most rappers want to be. Eleven years after his retirement, Jay-Z has continued to dominate the game.

Drake, once again, turned to Jay-Z for a verse, this time it was for his Nothing Was The Same album. The two shared “Pound Cake,” which was the closing song off the album. Although not officially released as a single, “Pound Cake” was arguably the most-popular track off the project.

Countless rappers have remixed “Pound Cake” and even more have simply sang along to the record. The impact Jay-Z has had on the hip hop world has been well-documented and even studied by some, as there are many who want that position. But, this has transcended, as Jay-Z and “Pound Cake” have inspired a new video game that hit the internet.
