It feels weird referring to 2013 as last year, but that’s what it is now. Hip Hop Vibe recently concluded the year-end honors and now the opportunity is being taken to look back on the other memorable moments of the year. There were a lot of people some might not consider hip hop who had a lot of attention from the game.
Miley Cyrus erased her reputation from her Disney days when she began working with many rappers. Mike WiLL Made It produced her “We Can’t Stop” single and soon she was working with Future, French Montana, Juicy J, and Wiz Khalifa. Of course, the infamous rumor of her carrying Juicy J’s child is notable.
More notable than anything else and what made Miley Cyrus a hip hop star was her nonstop twerking. Every day, Miley Cyrus had a new twerking video and eventually she soon was no longer engaged to her fiancee. Life changed for Miley Cyrus after she twerked to “Bands a Make Her Dance” and her overtaking two different MTV Awards. Fans are still waiting for her twerk-off with Nicki Minaj
Outside of all the controversy, Miley Cyrus had a memorable year and Bangerz was a solid album. Her year in hip hop started when she and Lil’ Kim came out to support Tiffany Foxx at her video shoot and it emerged into something much more. Miley Cyrus dominated the 2013 VMAs, she put out solid singles, such as “Wrecking Ball,” and had a noteworthy appearance on Mike WiLL’s “23” with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J.
With everything she was involved in, Miley Cyrus definitely deserves an honorable mention.
