It’s pretty obvious Angel Haze isn’t the type of artist to simply follow rules in hopes of fitting in. When most heard of her for the first time, she talked about wanting to have a lesbian experience with Azealia Banks. Only a few months later, the ladies were going through a beef on Twitter.
When 2013 approached, Angel Haze made it clear her Dirty Gold album would be released. Unfortunately, this ended up not being the case and Angel Haze did not take it lightly. Her label, Island/Republic Records, has changed the release date for the album several times.
Out of frustration, Angel Haze decided she would take a drastic step in order to get the respect she was looking for. With her album currently set to be released in March, Angel Haze decided to put the album out herself. Today, Angel Haze leaked her album and she posted a rant on Twitter about the situation.

It’s so annoying that my label could tell me that if I f*cking finished my album before the summer it would be out this year. I have gone to bat for this music. I have gone to bat for myself. I have literally sat f*cking sleepless and starved crying over this sh*t. I turned down so much sh*t to be sure that I could finish this album because actually wanting something to me means doing all you can to be sure that it’s attainable. I stopped arguing my point. Stopped giving a f*ck about everything. Let these other ditsy b*tches disrespect me. I turned my f*cking cheek because MUSIC IS ALL I F*CKING HAVE. And I know that’s the same for some of you. I did everything I could for you. I did not promise an album and not deliver, unlike every f*cking one else. I sat my a*s down and came up with this music WHEN I HAD NOTHING. Taking sh*t on the chin does not mean sitting back and letting the world beat and suck you f*cking dry. It’s knowing something is bigger than anything you are or will ever be and sitting the fuck down and complying to get sh*t done. I’m sorry if I seem angry. But these are my dreams. The only thing I have in my life. Imagine having the only reason you’re alive being the very thing straining your existence. Ughhhh… So sorry to Island/Republic Records, but f*ck you. I got here doing this for my fans and if you guys don’t feel the same, it won’t stop me. Idc what happens after this. They will get the music they were promised. And you guys JUST MAY LEARN TO KEEP YOUR F*CKING WORD.
