Maino calls Trinidad James and tells him to apologize to New York City on the phone [AUDIO]

Maino 3New York, as strongly as they came back, have become the scapegoat when it comes to hip hop. Towards the end of the summer, Kendrick Lamar got a lot of attention for his verse on “Control,” calling himself the king of New York. Last week, Trinidad James went on stage and then talked about the failures of the New York hip hop scene.

In his defense of his New York comments, Trinidad James did a lot of tough talking on his hometown station, Streetz 94.5. However, Maino had been all over Trinidad James’ comments from the very beginning. Once the situation began, Trinidad James told Maino he could call him on the phone to talk.

Even though Trinidad James’ “The Truth Will Set You Free” video is out, Maino called him beforehand. They got a lot of ground covered and Maino explained to him that he wouldn’t have said those comments in any other city. Maino then said he could respect Trinidad James if the video comes out.
