It’s probably too early to call anybody the “king” of Chicago because their scene is still developing. For the longest, it was just Kanye West, Common, and Twista out there holding it down. Now, there are plenty of Chicago rappers who are taking over the scene and King Louie is one of the leaders.

After a strong mixtape run, Kanye West shouted King Louie out on the G.O.O.D. Music remix of Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like.” The record that also featured Pusha T, Big Sean, and Jadakiss became one of 2012’s biggest hits. All the exposure helped introduce a new audience to King Louie, which paid off big for him.

King Louie took the shout out to his advantage and he continued working on his projects. As a result, his buzz has grown continuously and he even dropped thirty songs for every day in March. With his Drilluminati 2 project in the works, he released the cover for it on Instagram.
