In terms of modern day hip hop, Drake is that central figure because he is still somewhat young and he makes a bulk of the hits. People seem to finally understand that he represents the changes in the world, sometimes rappers sing. Accepting that for what it is makes the Drake experience enjoyable.

Nothing Was The Same came out last week and is the biggest-impacting album of the year for many reasons. Big releases came from many of the legends in hip hop and many more are coming, but fans have expected Drake all year. When he finally came, it was the biggest story in the hip hop world, until something else happened.

Yesterday, the official sales results came in for Nothing Was The Same. Drake debuted number one with his previous two albums and this week there was no difference. Once again, Drake topped the charts and Nothing Was The Same officially posted 658,000 copies sold in its first week.
