Hip hop’s peaceful period is over, these guys aren’t playing with each other anymore, it’s rough out here. Last week, Hip Hop Vibe had good talks with Oakland vets, Mistah F.A.B. and Yukmouth for Oakland Week. The city of Oakland has brought so much to hip hop and is in the midst of a cultural renaissance that deserves more shine.
A few of the current generation artists on the Oakland hip hop scene include the fast-rising Philthy Rich, Kurt Diggler, and DB Tha General. Last night, when Philthy Rich dropped “Swear to God” with Kurt Diggler, they also sent shots at DB Tha General over a perceived diss.
DB Tha General talked to Siccness about the “Swear to God” track. He said Philthy Rich knew what he was doing if he fired off a diss track without even reaching out to him to see if he even dissed him or not. Because of that and his Oakland nature, DB Tha General said he would definitely have a diss track of his own today.
