A lot of people don’t realize the influence Irv Gotti is still having on the game. Both popular Young Money members, Drake and Nicki Minaj, have spoken highly of him and his advice. Irv Gotti has had nothing but positive words for Drake leading up to the release of Nothing Was The Same, on which Irv is shouted out.
Drake represents this new era in hip hop and he is the leading man out there with his brand of music. Hip hop never was 100% about rapping, there was a lot that went into it and now the game’s most-popular rapper happens to also sing. The biggest current single from Drake happens to be “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
But, when Drake talked to Angie Martinez for Hot 97, he was talking more about his friendship with Irv Gotti. Honored by all the props Irv Gotti gave him, including calling him top dog in the game right behind Jay-Z, Drake was excited. He talked about working on his next album and punching the Y.O.L.O. shirt guy.
