One rapper overlooked in that mid-1990s discussion about the legends is AZ. Ironically, when he first came out, his momentum was just as big, if not bigger, than such figures like Nas, Jay-Z, and Raekwon. AZ still holds his position among those who truly know their hip hop music and mixtapes have kept himself going.
Recently, AZ dropped his “I Excel” single and he took to Twitter to reveal he had a new mixtape in the works. Earlier this summer, AZ dropped Last of A Dying Breed, which was hosted by DJ Mr. FX. When DJ Mr. FX talked to Hip Hop Vibe, he promised a sequel tape before the end of the summer.
AZ backed DJ Mr. FX up when he went on Twitter and announced September 10 as the release date for his new mixtape, Last of A Dying Breed, Pt. II. With the mixtape coming up, there is more music for the fans. Earlier this week, AZ also released the official cover for the mixtape.
