Not saying the young man isn’t gifted, but a lot of people hailed him as the second coming. Clearly, Kendrick Lamar was the best rapper to come out in a long time and he gained co-signs from Jay-Z and others.

Until recently, Kendrick Lamar played it humble, saying Nas’ Life is Good deserved album of the year over his good kid, m.A.A.d. city. Playing humble is cool, but when it becomes clear a person is on top, how are they to act. Kendrick Lamar is a music lover first, so he jumped on Big Sean’s “Control” and told the rap game to step up.

Kendrick Lamar finally broke his silence on “Control” and calling himself King of New York when he called into Los Angeles’ Power 106.” Now, Kendrick Lamar gives the same treatment to New York City. Peter Rosenberg got Kendrick Lamar on the phone and they discussed “Control” and his take on the rap game.
