Anybody familiar with Twitter and Instagram should know who Angel Cruz is. She also goes by the name Miss Angelyna and she is a popular up-and-coming model on the hip hop scene. Her following online is growing daily and she is doing much more than simply posting pretty pictures online.
In order to go from being nothing more than a Twitter or Instagram celebrity, it requires a lot of work. Any person who took the time to get to know this industry knows the work is something few people are willing to put in. Those who do are rarely disappointed with the results and there was no complaining from Angel when she appeared The L.O.X.’s “Summer’s Too Hot” video.
It’s been a little while since Hip Hop Vibe did Hottie of the Week, so if it was to come back, it had to come back correct. With that in mind, Angel Cruz was the perfect way to relaunch. She gave us an interview and she talked about her music video appearances, her journey, and her plans for the future in and outside of the business.

What journey led you into the modeling industry? Well, I always wanted to be a model since I was young. But, it took my brother, who is a photographer, to push me out of my shyness to take my professional photos .
You do a lot of styles of modeling, which is your favorite? Urban glamour and glamour, but I love beauty shots.
Have you starred in many music videos? Yes I have, Papoose’s “Get at Me,” The L.O.X’s “Summer’s Too Hot,” and others.
What does it take for a man to get the attention of a woman like you? Nothing really. Got to be a gentleman, that’s all I ask when I meet one.
What are some things that you find attractive? Smile, a sense of humor, if he don’t look like Alcide from “True Blood” then nahhh (laughs). If he can keep my interest up then he got me.
When it comes to yourself, what is your sexiest attribute? My eyes to my lips. Those two things get me in trouble!
Since you are in the industry and finding success, what advice would you leave to other ladies following your path? Well, for me, it’s been hard due to work, trying to find time with my family, and career, but if you want to pursue modeling shoot with the best. It means spending money and connecting yourself with designers and publicists, they will help you start off great. Got to be the sweetest girl, but don’t be too nice. Sometimes it gets you nowhere but broke. Treat it as a game, you want to win.
Understandably, a career in modeling is not one that lasts forever, can you tell us your plans for the future? Well, I work in a hospital as a Lab Technician, I want to go back to school and go higher. I don’t wanna be a nurse, that’s for sure, maybe a anesthetist. It’s hard now a days, especially when we don’t know where the money is going to be at in the future !
