Undoubtedly, New York City has had struggles when it comes to hip hop. There were a lot of people who were pegged to be next up and Papoose was among them. His street buzz was incredible and a lot of people thought he could take it to the mainstream, which he could have.
Back in June, Papoose explained to Hip Hop Vibe that he prefers to remain an independent artist. In the interview, Papoose also discussed Kendrick Lamar bringing him out during Summer Jam. Papoose talked about the support he has always had for both Kendrick Lamar and TDE.
When Kendrick Lamar crowned himself king of New York, Papoose took offense and took aim at Kendrick. Papoose is currently making his media rounds, speaking on his current status with Kendrick Lamar. Stopping by Shade 45, Papoose told DJ Self and DJ Superstar Jay that he and Kendrick are “no longer cool.”
