Each year, Atlanta produces a couple of breakout artists and Rich Homie Quan is their offering from this year. A lot of people are just catching on to Rich Homie Quan now, but he has been doing his thing for a while now. While the focus was on his label-mate, Trinidad James, earlier this year, Rich Homie Quan dropped his mixtape.
“Type of Way” suddenly caught on with fans and it spread like wildfire through the game and has circulated radio. Since the song has caught on, Rich Homie Quan has found himself compared to Future to no end. Despite sounding a lot like Future, he insists his style is one all of his own.
This morning, Rich Homie Quan continued his tour through New York City. In making his media rounds, Rich Homie Quan stopped by Hot 97 and talked with DJ Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg for the morning show. He spoke on Future, his infectious hit, his independent success, and much more.
