Representing both Philadelphia and Atlanta, DJ Drama has been an instrumental figure in hip hop over the past few years. From the last generation of Atlanta hip hop, DJ Drama helped introduce a lot of artists. He continued doing so, ushering in this new era of Atlanta hip hop.
Despite helping guys like 2 Chainz get in the game and gain prominence, DJ Drama still calls it like he sees it. During his interview with DJ Scream, 2 Chanz told it how he felt it was in regards to Kendrick Lamar on Big Sean’s “Control.” DJ Drama issued some of this same tough love to 2 Chainz.
Shade 45 recently had the opportunity to play host to DJ Drama. When he sat down with Shade 45, DJ Drama obviously was having a good time. He talked about how he feels 2 Chainz has fallen off, Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, New York’s reaction, and Papoose, who he had plenty of jokes on.
