Uncle Murda talks name change, Brooklyn, Jay-Z, Def Jam, and more with Hot 97 [VIDEO]

Uncle Murda 2It’s not Uncle Murda anymore, the man calls himself UM now. Following the path of a lot of other artists, Uncle Murda left Def Jam for Epic Records. With a new deal tailored to fit his needs, Uncle Murda did something to tailor the label’s needs by taking the Murda out of his name to become UM.

Still, it is the same Uncle Murda just under a new moniker. He still reps Brooklyn and he is still that ruthless, hardcore, rapper. Uncle  Murda has held Brooklyn down for the longest time, especially during the post-Jay-Z era. When he couldn’t get his own album out, he dropped mixtapes.

This morning, Uncle Murda stopped by Hot 97 and talked to DJ Cipha Sounds, Ebro, and also Peter Rosenberg. In this interview, Uncle Murda spoke to the trio about some of everything. He talked about becoming UM, Brooklyn, his relationship with Jay-Z, leaving Def Jam, and more.
