One good thing about Jay-Z is that it is impossible to guess when he is coming back and when he returns he is well-informed. Auto-tune was the craze during Jay-Z’s last return and, this time, Miley Cyrus emerged as one of the biggest hip hop figures. Twerking to several hip hop songs, Jay-Z was well-aware.
On Magna Carta Holy Grail, Jay-Z mentioned Miley Cyrus twerking. Initially, people viewed what Jay-Z said as a diss. When Jay-Z made his interview rounds, he made it clear he had not said anything bad about Miley Cyrus and he encouraged her to keep on twerking.
“Somewhere in America” is the name of the track and Miley Cyrus has been excited about the record ever since it broke. It turns out, Jay-Z wanted to do more than mention her, he also wanted to talk to her. Miley Cyrus revealed Pharrell reached out on Jay-Z’s behalf, but she was working in Miami.

“Pharrell had actually hit me [up], he was like ‘Jay-Z wants to call you and tell you that he’s shouting you out in the song tomorrow. I was in Miami and was doing crazy press for my record. So I came out… and we got to go out and hear it in a club. It was fun.”
