For some reason, it feels like the 1990s were only a few years ago. Instead, it has been almost twenty years since the 1990s when guys like Jay-Z first popped up on the scene. He is not the hip hop artist he once was, but Jay-Z still is the defining rapper in the game, as the culture is molded around him.
In recent years, the grip Jay-Z’s had on the game has started to loosen. During this same period of time, guys like Tyler, the Creator have began to gain positions in the game. A lot of people flock to Tyler, the Creator because his style is different, something unlike vets like Jay-Z.
Just because he’s from the old(er) school, it does not mean Jay-Z is not following the current generation. As controversial as Tyler, the Creator is, he has gained the support of most of hip hop’s veterans. Jay-Z approves of Tyler, the Creator and they recently snapped this photo that hit Instagram.
