Harlem has been hard to ignore over the past two years. Going from no rappers holding the city down to multiple, Vinny Cha$e is next up on the Harlem scene. This definitely isn’t Harlem in 1996, or even 2006 for that matter, this is why most people refer to the scene as “New Harlem.”
These new scenes have sprouted up in cities all over the United States. Those that checked out Hip Hop Vibe’s Nasty Mane interview read about him discussing the “New Memphis” scene in his city. Well, there is a similar movement of change going on right now in Harlem.
Vinny Cha$e is one of the “New Harlem” leaders and Life + Times talked to him about this. “The Genesis” is the name of the series in which Vinny Cha$e spoke to. He talked about the “New Harlem” hip hop scene and his own origins in the game during the conversation.
