Through his management, Wale met Jerry Seinfeld early in his career. Earlier in his career, before the fame, Wale was inspired by Jerry Seinfeld for his popular mixtape series, The Mixtape About Nothing. Now, this week, Wale released his third studio album, The Gifted, which featured contributions from Jerry Seinfeld.

Before he ever announced The Gifted, Wale revealed he and Jerry Seinfeld were in the studio working on The Album About Nothing. In the middle of working on this, releasing in-studio videos, Wale announced he was working on The Gifted. He immediately rolled out the “Bad” single and kept it moving.

It was set up for Wale and J. Cole to face off, before Cole pushed his album up. When he talked to Power 99’s MinaSayWhat, Wale told a different story about his next album. He and Jerry Seinfeld are continuing to work on The Album About Nothing and production on half of the album comes from J. Cole.
