Every summer, Maybach Music dominates with hit records. Each year, there are different members of the crew who take over the spotlight. Wale is holding things down for the summer of 2013 and released his third studio album, The Gifted, today and is pushing his new single, “Love/Hate Thing,” with Sam Dew.
Comparable to the other Maybach Music members, Wale has adopted Miami as a home away from home. Always, Wale will represent Washington, DC and he made it clear he is devoted to helping their hip hop scene build. But, Wale spends time down in Miami, which is how he linked with Maybach Music.
Often, the Maybach Music collective is compared to the Miami Heat trio. Every year since they came together, the Heat have gone to the Finals and have won consecutive championships. Wale talked to NBC Nitecap about the Heat’s LeBron James, his own fame, bringing hip hop soul back, and The Gifted.
