Yeah, so the Throwback came a day early this week. Usually, the Throwback comes on Wednesday, hence the Wednesday Throwback name of the column. But, when it is about celebrating the work of an icon, it’s not too hard to push the date up. Tuesday Throwback is a special edition delivered in honor of Michael Jackson.
While Michael Jackson is referred to and celebrated as the King of Pop, he touched every genre of music. Hip hop is heavily influenced by Michael Jackson and he helped usher in the era of New Jack Swing. Thriller is one of the best albums ever and it inspired the genre of hip hop more than any other brand of music.
Four years ago, today, music lost an icon in Michael Jackson. A lot of blame is given and drama surrounds Michael Jackson’s death. But, just to honor the music and his classic album, Thriller, today we chose “Billie Jean” as the latest Throwback song and this is a tribute to the legend, Michael Jackson.
