Master P talks No Limit/Cash Money with “Sway in the Morning” on Shade 45 [VIDEO]

New Orleans hip hop has been defined, for years, by No Limit Records and Cash Money Records. Back in 1991, Cash Money Records launched and the label first dominated the streets of New Orleans. A year later, No Limit Records launched and they soon took the game over.

At the height of No Limit Records’ run, Cash Money Records rose to prominence in the game. Despite both labels being highly-successful and New Orleans-based, they never worked together. Behind the scenes, there was talk of friction between the camps, something Master P, Birdman, and Slim never spoke of.

In recent interviews, Master P has talked about the success of Cash Money Records, admitting how proud he is of the label. During a recent sit-down with Sway Calloway for “Sway in the Morning,” Master P spoke more on this. Finally, the rivalry between the two labels was addressed.
