Jay-Z announces “Magna Carta Holy Grail” album during game five of the 2013 NBA Finals [VIDEO]

“What you want me to do? I’m sorry, I’m back” is how Jay-Z reintroduced himself when he returned from his retirement seven years ago. Ironically, Jay-Z’s “hiatus” has lasted longer than his retirement from the game. It does not seem like it, because Jay-Z has teased a new album every year since The Blueprint 3 was released.

It seemed like Jay-Z would release something new in 2012, until the birth of his daughter, as he took time off for her. But, Jay-Z has made appearances on records from guys like Kanye West and Justin Timberlake. Taking 2013 over on his first time out in the year, many expected a new Jay-Z album.

Over the weekend, Jay-Z revealed he had a major announcement set to impact in the form of a commercial during game five of the 2013 NBA Finals. Most expected a new business deal, but Jay-Z had something else in mind. Instead, his Magna Carta Holy Grail album was announced for a July 4 release date.
