Pittsburgh is quietly one of the biggest breeding ground for new artists. Of course, there are a handful of artists the city is known for, but there are many more new artists emerging. J-Haze is a major rising Pittsburgh emcee and he is signed to Glasses Malone’s Blu Division Music.

Glasses Malone is a legend on the West Coast and his Blu Division Music is actually distributed by Cash Money Records. For J-Haze, it is definitely a good look to have the backing of YMCMB. Preparing to make his next step in the game, J-Haze recently released his My Land mixtape with DJ Grady and DJ Junior.

J-Haze collaborated with Glasses Malone, Yo Gotti, and Gudda Gudda on his latest mixtape. Hip Hop Vibe recently spoke to J-Haze about his new work and he opened up on what all of this has been like. In addition to the collaborations, he has a mixtape out with two of the hottest mixtape DJs out in DJ Grady and DJ Junior.

Very briefly, can you let the people know who you are and where you are from? Yeah. My name is J-Haze and I’m from a neighborhood called Beltzhoover, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m also Glasses Malone’s east coast artist.

How did you wind up with Glasses Malone’s Blu Division Music? Me and Glasses been doing music for years now. It kind of just made sense, shoutout my nigga Wink Loc for making that happen.

Are you pleased with the reception to your My Land mixtape? Yeah. I’m happy with My Land, it started my internet buzz. I’ve work with a lot of great artist and producers on it.

Did you feel the collaborations were on point? Very. I’ve got to work with a lot of artists I’d never thought I’d work with, so it was cool.

What is it like when you work with Glasses Malone? MAN working in the studio with Glasses is something else, bro. He doesn’t even need a pen or paper, he just remembers in bars, it’s CRAZY.

Other collaborations come from Gudda Gudda and Yo Gotti, did you feel it was important to work with rappers from the South? You got to work with artists from the south, they have the game on lock rite now to be honest and just to be starting off in my career with records with Yo Gotti and Gudda Gudda shows I’m playing no games.

My Land was hosted by DJ Grady and DJ Junior, what is your relationship like with those guys? DJ Junior is like a brother to me. We hold each other down period, we support one another just like family and DJ Grady is also a cool dude who I enjoyed working with on this project.

You recently announced a mixtape with Glasses Malone, is there a chance they will host that too? Not this one, those my niggas, but they won’t be hosting the tape.

Can you give us a few details about the joint effort with Glasses Malone? The tape is crazy. Expect some good features
and solid street bangers. I really can’t go into that much detail, but know it’s going to be something epic.

In conclusion, can you give the fans five reasons to download your mixtape and leave us your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? It’s just good Pittsburgh hip hop, it’s a good mix of 90’s lyrics with new school beats. It’s just a good project people shouldn’t overlook. My Twitter is @ThaRealJHaze.
