A lot has been said about the “New West” and the new generation of artists are definitely leaving their impact on the game. But, do not forget about the people who made the West Coast relevant in the first place. The fact that there is a “New West” movement shows there originally was someone else holding things down.
DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, E-40, Warren G, Mack 10, Baby Bash, Suga Free, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are among the original West Coast hip hop stars. Earlier this year, all of these legends came together in Los Angeles for the West Coast Fest. The event was a major success and the West Coast Fest decided to expand.
With all of the original performers in tow, the West Coast Fest is launching a tour that will take place this summer. E-40, Mack 10, Warren G, Baby Bash, Suga Free, Tha Dogg Pound, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will all be hitting the road. The tour stars on June 28 in Fresno and will wrap on September 21 in Indigo, California.
