Miami has longtime been a popular travel destination in the hip hop world. Hip hop figures from all over the country have homes in Miami. Most notably are the members of Cash Money Records such as Lil Wayne, Birdman, Ace Hood, DJ Khaled, and Drake.
Lil Wayne loves Miami, but is not a fan of the Miami Heat and he made that very clear, angering many Miami residents. With Wayne’s continued disrespect of the franchise, which the city took personal, several Miami hip hop figures spoke out. DJ Epps witnessed the whole situation play out.
Each week, Sway Calloway has a different DJ provide the music for MTV’s “RapFix Live” and this week it was DJ Epps. As he welcomed Gunplay, Maybach Music, and Pharrell, DJ Epps gave a brief interview. DJ Epps talked about the ongoing friction within Miami and he said there is none because the city is happy because the Miami Heat will win a championship.
