Sad but true, there is not much going on in the female rap scene outside of Nicki Minaj, even though other ladies are making themselves known. Entering the game with a lot of momentum, Nicki Minaj landed with Young Money. Teaming up with the hottest crew in the game, Nicki Minaj became the hottest rapper in the game.
With Nicki Minaj rising in popularity, many could not help but compare her to the femcees of years passed. Her sexiness reminded many of Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown, ironically both initially had issues with Nicki Minaj. But, New York was behind her, as she helped to reintroduce the city.
Nicki Minaj returned to Hot 97 yesterday and she squashed the beef she has had with personality, Peter Rosenberg, over the past year. In the latest edition leaked by Hot 97, there was talk of favorite female rappers. She chose Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, Remy Ma, and Lauryn Hill.
