Over the past couple years, Andre 3000 has realized how valuable he is to the hip hop game, as numerous artists have gotten verses from him. None of this would have been possible without support, however. One person who supported Andre 3000 to no end was his mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo.
Andre 3000 is in the midst of a peak in his career, but is also at an impasse when it comes to putting out a project. Unable to work with Outkast has been hard on Andre 3000, so he has kept to himself for the most part. Yesterday, things were happy when Andre 3000 celebrated his 38th birthday.
What a difference a day makes, though. According to reports, Andre 3000 lost his mother, as she was found dead in her bed on May 28. Instrumental to the rise of Outkast, she was the wife of local pastor, Robert L. Hodo, and also a successful real estate agent, all of this falls behind mother and she will surely be missed.
