A month ago, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ death hit its eleventh anniversary. It always hurts to think about how that talented young woman died. Forty-two years ago, today, Left Eye was born and thinking about life is something that is always positive. In the eleven years since Left Eye passed away, TLC has struggled to move on without her.
Unorthodox, as the only rapper in a group of singers, TLC rose to take the music game over in the 1990s. Fading into the background after their initial run, TLC prepared their comeback for 2002, but this did not happen. There was enough music recorded, though, for TLC fans to be served with one more offering of new music.
Eleven years after the fact, TLC (with Left Eye recordings) is said to be working with J. Cole on his new album. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez has had a lasting impact on the music industry, as a whole. So, on this day, May 27, 2013, the hip hop world is celebrating the forty-second birthday of the popular rapstress.
