Through his work with 2 Chainz, the world has been introduced to Cap1 and he continues to rise the ranks. With a growing career, Cap1 is viewed by many as a “new” artist, but he has been around for over ten years. Few people realize the history Cap1 has in the game through his behind the scenes work.
Over the past year, 2 Chainz’ story has become one of hip hop’s most-told success stories. Those who did not previously know about his history now realize 2 Chainz has been around since 2000 and his first big break came in 2007. Before this, many assumed 2011 was the first big year for 2 Chainz.
MTV recently featured Cap1 on their “Mixtape Daily” segment. Launching the new sub-segment, “Firestarter,” Cap1 was the latest feature. During his interview, Cap1 talked about his history with Motown Records and DTP Records, along with his T.R.U. 2 It mixtape that features Game, 2 Chainz, Young Jeezy, and others.
