With “Accidental Racists,” LL Cool J received all the promotion he needed for his upcoming album, Authentic. After several disputes with Def Jam, LL Cool J ended that chapter with his Exit 13 album. Despite the farewell message, LL Cool J insisted this would not be his last album.
Until last fall, however, Exit 13 did appear to be the last LL Cool J album. But, last fall, the veteran Queens rapper announced his upcoming album. LL Cool J released his promotional single, “Ratchet.” The track will not appear on the album, but it did help launch the album, which is due next month.
“Accidental Racists” is the single LL Cool J is pushing and it controversially features country music star, Brad Paisley. After the media backlash to the song, LL Cool J and his collaborator, Paisley, decided to break down the track. ABC News talked to both men earlier this evening about their intentions with the single.
