Very artistic, Drake faced a major backlash after the release of Take Care, his sophomore album. Undoubtedly a great album, Take Care was not exclusively a rap album, it touched several genres. But, with Drake marketing himself as a rapper, primarily, the rap game had a good laugh at his expense.
Briefly, Drake engaged these detractors, but he would silence them all. His “Started from the Bottom” single was released and his third album, Nothing Was the Same, was announced. Now, no one is questioning how hard, soft, or “Sweet,” Drake is, as he is simply taking the game over.
Recently, Drake has enjoyed a lot of success on both his breakout hit single and his 2011 album. Going on two years after Drake released Take Care, he has watched the album certify double platinum with the RIAA. This news coincides with Drake going platinum with his “Started from the Bottom” single.
